Stephanie Dickens, a single mom of three, is a school bus driver for the Virginia Beach City Public School System. Her bright and wonderful children are 13-year-old daughter Nazara, 9-year-old son Nakeem, and 8-year-old son Nazir. As you can imagine, things have been rough for this family due to Stephanie’s lost wages during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Schools opened for in-person learning in Virginia Beach in October, but they have since closed once again, reverting to a virtual model that requires no bus services. Select learning centers are open, but bus runs are sparse. Currently, Stephanie is barely making enough to cover her monthly rent. Giving her kids a Christmas this year seemed impossible… until fate stepped in. Ellit Groups has decided to adopt this lovely family for the holidays.
